The XL's air flow is complimented by Blueair's proprietary HEPASilent and electrostatic air filtration technology which is capable of surpassing HEPA standards with an efficiency of 99.97% of particles down to 0.1 micron in size. A new v-shaped filter design maximizes filter area in a surprisingly small amount of space and when combined with the HEPASilent filter media, it cleans the air faster than traditional HEPA air purifiers. Optional carbon filters are available for use in environments that contain from higher levels of gaseous pollutants and unwanted odor. Additionally, the PRO XL features an Air Intelligence Module which tests the air in your home for particle and gas levels. If pollutants are detected the PRO XL will automatically adjust its fan speed to quickly remove the pollutants.
